Wimbledon Crisis Centre, Day 2

Good morning, all. This is today's initial post for discussing the activities taking place at Wimbledon; today's Order of Play can be found here. We'll be providing you with Overflow posts during the day as needed - so if you find the current post closed to comments, please look for the link that we'll insert in the current post - it won't be found on the tennis.com front page.

Matches begin at 12 noon local time (7 a.m. EST) on many courts, and an hour later on the main show courts, Centre Court and Court 1. The first two featured matches on Centre Court involve defending champion Venus Williams against Stefanie Voegele, and Andy Roddick (in his first foray onto court since retiring in the Queen's Club semifinal with a tweaked ankle) versus Jeremy Chardy, a first-time matchup between the two. Then Murray-mania begins, at least for the local media, as the Scot takes on Robert Kendrick. The one time that the two have met on grass previously, at Newport in 2006, Murray delivered a double bagel; it's unlikely to be that simple today. The third match on Court 1 could be entertaining - it's between two of the better performers at the Queen's Club warmup, Juan Carlos Ferrero and Mikhail Youzhny.

The weather is expected to be sunny - where I live, not far from SW19, the day has started with clear blue skies.

As always, enjoy today's tennis.
